On Friday, April 30th 2010 at 10:00 am there will be a Press Event announcing the celebration of the grand opening of the 4 mile section between Travelers Rest and Greenville.

The opening of this 4 mile section of the GHS Swamp Rabbit creates a 14 mile continuous greenway from Travelers Rest to Greenville and is the start of a county-wide Greenways Master Plan that will connect communities throughout the county. Plans are underway for another 2 mile section of the Swamp Rabbit to connect the City of Greenville to the Lake Conestee/ SC TAC (formerly Donaldson Center) area. Widespread support for and use of the trails will help facilitate the expansion of the trail network throughout the county.
